Escape from Binkoid Village: Ch13 Morning Setoff (LAST CHAPTER!)

I woke up in the morning with the sun shining in my eyes through the window.
I did the same I always did when I wake up; yawn, stretch, and sit up on the side of my bed.

“Good morning!” Cee-Ta-Boid said quietly, as she brought in a tray of food, with a suitcase.

“Oh! Thank you!” I said tiredly, as I rubbed my eyes.

“Your welcome! I hope you like banana pancakes. I looked up on Bink-Web stuff that you Earthlings like. It said banana pancakes and orange juice. I hope you like it! Want some syrup? I have some!” she said, taking a little plastic bag full of sticky maple syrup out of her apron pocket.

I grabbed the syrup from her hand, and smiled. My voice was hoarse, and I showed her that it was by grabbing my throat and making a sick face.

“Aw! You poor thing! You have a sore throat? I put all types of medicine in your and Edwin’s suitcase. It should help.” She said.

“Oh. My throat doesn’t hurt. It’s just hoarse, that’s all.” I said, I bet she could barely understand me. It sounded like a frog was croaking in my throat. I giggled, and hugged her.

“Well, I better go bring Edwin his breakfast. Enjoy!” she said, and opened the door to leave.

“Wait-” I managed to say, but she was already gone.

I ate my delicious breakfast, and then jumped out of bed to scramble through my suitcase to see what was inside of it.
There were all types of medicine, five bars of soap, three huge bottles of shampoo and conditioner, nine cute outfits, two boxes of tissue, twenty-five bottles of water, ten cans of Goolp-Oid, and some other food names I couldn’t pronounce. I’m sure Edwin had the exact same things in his suitcase, so I wasn’t really worried too much of running out of supplies.

“Jolie! Jolie! Are you up?” Edwin shouted, and busted into my room.

“Well I am now.” I joked, “What is it?”

“Well, I got my suitcase I ate my breakfast. Are we going to leave?”

“Yup.” I said, “We will just have to say goodbye, and be on our way!” I said, with a shaky voice.

He looked at my nervously, and surprisingly, reached over to give me a hug.

“I’m so scared!” I said, as he let go.

“Me too! I guess I just kinda needed a hug. I haven’t gotten one in a while.”

“That’s okay.” I said, brushing myself off.

We lugged our suitcases down all of the flights of stairs, said goodbye, and walked out the front door with the family waving behind us.

“Good bye! Thank you!” Edwin and I continued to say. It felt like we had to keep saying it, until they were out of sight.

“Wow. Okay. Sooo.” I said, out of breath and worried to death.

“Sooo.” He said back.

We had nothing to talk about so I broke the ice and said, “You excited? Just you and me again! Okay. Adventures here we come!” and then I giggled, followed by Edwin.

I guess we were looking at our feet, because we came across a big lake looking thing, with an island in the middle. A little rickety old sign that was hanging by a thread said,
“Pink-Oid Pond.”
We had to turn our heads upside down to read it, since it was facing down.

“Cool.” Edwin said, “Let’s swim in it!”

“No! Let’s keep walking!” I laughed.

Then, we saw a building. It wasn’t your average building either. It had huge black holes stamped across it; and they looked like they were done purposely. The big sign in the window said:
“Ba-Dee-Da-Doid”

I wanted to go inside, so, I opened the door and gestured for Edwin to follow.
A creature at the desk wearing glasses said, “ Welcome to the mayor’s house, and office. Home of the one and only black hole. How may I help you Earthlings today?”

“Well, we are just looking. Thank you. Do you happen to know where the mayor is?” I asked.

She laughed sarcastically and pointing us to the back room.
“Thanks.” Edwin muttered, and we made our way inside.

Security guards stood in front of a small and round desk. They all had dark glasses on, and in black suits. All of them were gray creatures, with curly tails.

“DEPART!” said a man in a deep voice. We couldn’t see him, it sounded as if he was behind the guards, so we guessed it was the mayor.

All of the security guards took one step in unison, away from his desk, and revealed a strange looking creature. It had black and white spots, and ears on the top it his head.

“Hello. I am Mayor Ba-Dee-Da-Doid. You have come for me. Did you come because of the black hole?” he asked.

“Umm… we were just looking around. We don’t really know what the Black Hole is.

We looked down to see a medium sized hole on the ground.

“Well, the Black Hole is very cool. It takes you back a year in time, and everything will be the same a year before.” He said, crossing his arms.

I looked at Edwin, and raised an eyebrow. I was so excited, because it could take us both back to Wacksville.

“Will I still be able to know him though?” I said, sadly, pointing to Edwin.

“Well, did you know him a year ago?” he asked.

I shook my head.

“Then no.” he replied, in a single statement.

“Oh. Well that changes things up a bit.” I said, looking down.

Edwin looked at me, and made a sad face. I looked back at him.

“Will I remember anything that has happened this past year?” I asked.

“No. It will be all of the knowledge you had one year before.” He said, shaking his head.

“Oh. Well that changes things too.” I said again.

“Would you like to enter the Black Hole? I will give you two a moment to decide.” He said.

“Edwin.” I said, “I won’t know you if we go in the Black Hole.”
“Yeah, but maybe we can write a note onto our hands saying ‘Go to the evil scientists house’ that might work.” He said.

“But what if you just lock me in again! You won’t remember me, and I will not remember why I had it on my hand!” I said.

“We should just do it. Jolie, we need to. We will find each other again. Let’s just go in the black hole.” He said sadly.

I nodded my hand, and told the mayor we wanted to go inside the Black Hole.

“Very well.” He said “ Now, the only way to get into a Black Hole, is if you guess which hole is the Black Hole. It could be one of the holes outside. Now, go outside, and choose which one it is. But, if you choose the wrong one, we have no choice but to push you down it, and you will be floating into an outer darkness for eternity.” He said.

“But why?” I asked.

“Because, if you know that the hole you chose is the wrong hole, and if you aren’t away from the town, you might tell someone not to pick the hole you chose, then they will know. No one has ever chosen the right hole. Now, please, no more questions, just go pick.”

We nodded our heads, and went outside to choose.

“I think it is… that one!” Edwin said, and pointed to the one on the very top.

“Wait!” I yelled, I remembered the hole beneath the mayor’s feet, which he avoided stepping on.

I ran back inside, and Edwin followed me. As I made my way into the mayor’s office, I pointed to the hole on the floor.

“It’s that one! It is THAT hole! That’s the Black Hole!” I shouted.

He smiled, and nodded his head.

“That’s correct. You are the first one to choose the Black Hole.” He said.

The door thrust open.
“WAIT!! DON’T GO YET!” Cee-Ta-Boid screamed.

“Cee-Ta-Boid? What are you doing here?” I asked, confused.

“Well, I, um-” she stuttered, “I have someone for you.” She said.

“Who?” I asked, and then a big furry dog jumped on me.

“SAM!” I screamed. “SAM! SAM! IT’S SAM! SAMMY!”

It was my dog. My dog I had back in Wacksville.
I cried, the tears just came. They were happy tears. Sam was by my side again. My dog.

Edwin’s face was confused.

“How did you find him?” I asked.

“Well, last night, you were sleep talking, and said how much you missed him, so I went Earth, by the way, you said which town you lived in, in your sleep, and I asked everyone if they knew where you lived. Finally, I found your house, and your next-door neighbor had him. They said you just disappeared, and that Sam was very depressed. By the way, the people in your town kept looking at me very strangely.” She said.

“Yeah, they do that.” I laughed. I knew exactly why they were looking at her funny. Because she looked like some one from outer space!!

“Sammy.” I cried, “Your home.”

“Well.” The mayor said, “I- well. Are you going down the Black Hole or not?”

Then, the door swung open again.

“Mayor Bee-Dee-Da-Doid?” said three men, wearing a cop uniform.

“Yes?” he asked, confused.

“You are under arrest, for illegally pushing people into Outer Darkness.” The y said.

“What? It is not illegal! I-I do it all the time!” he said.

“Yes. We know. And this young lady, Cee-Ta-Boid, told us. We were wondering what had happened to all of those people. You were supposed wash away their memory, not push them into Outer Darkness. Come with me, you are going to jail. You are no longer mayor of Binkoid Village. Whoever just got the Black Hole correct is. Now, who guessed the Black Hole correctly?” he asked, looking around.

“We did!” I said, holding up my hand, and holding up Edwin’s for him.

“Congratulations. You are now the new king and queen of Binkoid Village. And your dog is… your dog is… the royal dog…. I guess.”

I looked at Edwin, and we both screamed. We were so excited! We didn’t want to go in the Black Hole after all. We were now the king and queen of Binkoid Village! How could we leave?

I hugged Cee-Ta-Boid, and bowed. We were the new king and queen.

“Well, Cee-Ta-Boid, if you could go back to Wacksville and tell my family to visit, that would be great.” I said.

“Sure!” she said happily, “It only takes about fifteen minutes in my Time Needle to get there!” she ran out and about half an hour later she came back with my family.

“Mom! Dad!” I said as I ran up to them to hug them.

“Baby! We were so worried! How? I mean, how did you get here? Wow, it is unbelievable. We are going to move in here. Dad and I decided we are going to live here now. Is that alright?” she asked.

I blinked big to them.

“Yes! Yes! Please!” I said.

We all went back to Cee-Ta-Boid’s house, and I introduced them to Edwin, and we both told them the whole story, while Cee-Ta-Boid made her famous cookies and juice.
Later that evening, Edwin proposed to me, and we got married. We built a huge palace, and built a huge guesthouse for my parents to live in next to us. We were the rulers of Binkoid Village.
